Web Gear Field exists because gear storage is one of those jobs everyone means to sort out and few people get around to. We want to make it easier, with clear plans, honest comparisons and care routines that fit into ordinary weeks.
What we publish
Our Storage Ideas are build-ready plans, each focused on one zone of the home: a garage wall, a bike area, a ball-and-racket corner, a seasonal bin shelf, a backyard shed or a small apartment. Every plan has a materials spec sheet, a step timeline, options compared, a do/don't list and a printable checklist.
Our Gear Care guides cover what happens before and after storage: drying wet gear, washing bikes, looking after tents and sleeping bags, putting winter gear away, and keeping bags and pads fresh.
How we write
- Practical first. We favor ideas that work in real spaces with real budgets.
- No hype. We do not rank products or make claims we cannot support. Where manufacturer guidance matters, we tell you to check it.
- Safety matters. Weight-bearing storage should be fixed into structure and used within the hardware's ratings.
- Kept current. We revisit guides and update them when better approaches appear.
Our guides are general information. Always follow the instructions and ratings from your equipment and hardware manufacturers, and ask a qualified professional if you are unsure about fixing anything to your walls or ceiling.
